You can also use a double sided tape if wanted.  Since the tracker device comes with its own separate battery there’s no shortage of tracking even when the car’s battery dries out unexpectedly.

The only drawback that I can think of is since the GPS tracker uses a magnet to attach and is not hardwired into your car, it is fairly easy for someone to remove it unless you fix it somewhere very discreet.
